He was watching the cat walk back and forth in front of me. So, this is the best eye contact I could get. Do you love the running pants???

Ethan needed some work!

So, I needed to paint the "ETHAN" - as I got them primed only.
I took apart the sign and painted the letters and then started looking at all of the ribbons I have to make it look a little more snazzy.

This is the final product! The letters are painted and the ribbons are set. I am pretty happy with how it turned out this time. The cool thing is that when I get tired of it, it will be easy to change it up again!

Last night, Dan and I were purging the house of extra stuff. It's winter time and it's cold and the economy is bad and I believe that we have warm clothes and stuff that we are not using that others could REALLY use right now. SO, we were going through our stuff taking out what we don't use so we can donate it for others to use.
While we were doing this, we came across this toy given to us by Auntie Annan and Cousin Given. I don't know it's EXACT purpose, but it does have a mirror which is very exciting to me. I tied it to Phin's vibrating chair and it had a ball with it!
Auntie Annan, do you know where/how this toy is supposed to be displayed?

Maggie's sleep

Maggie is a good citizen in the house.
She obeys the rules of the house and doesn't even try to steal Phin's toys (at this time).
There is ONE thing I would like for Maggie to "work on" for the new year.
That would be her SLEEPING IN MY BED - specifically on MY SIDE.... specifically using MY PILLOW for her head. This picture doesn't show her using my pillow - but it does show her hunkered down under the covers. Go Maggie GO!

Phin got a couple visitors today! Phin got held and bounced and had blues songs "The Baby Blues" sang to him.
Grandmother Allen also helped me construct the ETHAN sign on the wall.

I still have some holes in the picture frame to fill...

and I need to paint ETHAN as it's currently just primed.

Christmas Day!!!!

So, this is Phin's new "thing." He's been doing it for a week or two - to me... but I see his sharing the love with all family members now. Phin loves to put his fingers into the mouth of the person holding him. That's fine - except for times like, when he's in the gym daycare. We may have to put a quick end to fingers in the mouth - or we'll have to break out the soap!


Cousin Given got some really great presents. I didn't try to photograph each of them - but his first present was a Car's step stool that he can use to be able to reach the sink in the bathroom for things like washing hands and brushing teeth. He was very excited to use it!

Cousin Given also got a Thomas the Train fleece blanket - from Phin. I hope it keeps Given warm on the cold nights in Dallas!

Christmas EVE

Today, Phin is wearing his "flight suit" on cords, striped shirt and top gun jacket. It's super cold out today (in the 20's) so it's a great outfit to keep him warm as we brave the elements!
(note, this outfit is a 12 month outfit - and Phin is just FOUR MONTHS!!!)

I also got Grandma Susie, Auntie MaryAnn and Auntie Nicki to model their aprons I made for them (though, not a Christmas gift!) EVERYONE looks STUNNING! :)

Phin is wearing his 2008 Beijing Olympics onesie that Uncle Thomas got him. It looks great with his fleece bear outfit. We want Phin to be comfortable on the long drive to Grandma Susie's farm.

Not only is Phin wearing 9month old clothing (it's actually starting to get "tight") he's also growing growing growing.

We pulled out this toy that MaryAnn gave us.
Phin likes it. He plays with the big ball - although, the smaller toys overwhelm him right now.


In this other picture, you can see that Phin has started to *understand* his soother.
He likes to take it out of his mouth and try to put it back in. Sometimes, he actually gets it BACK into his mouth, but then, he accidentally pulls it out again - and then feels tricked.

Over Worried Mother!!!

Phin is just to the age where he's doing some light head butting of his daddy and my face.
I orgionally thought this is just a bruise... but it's been 5-7 days now. Wouldn't a bruise go away by now? (It's been this greenish color the whole time, no dark brown or anything...)
I called his Pedi this morning but - they don't work on Wednesdays and I don't know this is a "medical emergency."
So, what is YOUR opinion? Have you seen anything like this before - or is it just a common bruise?

And now, we are dog sitting and having a second dog in the house with the cat, and the baby leaves little time for me to upload pictures.

Thursday

First thing first - Isn't Phin cute in his little bear outfit (70%OFF) YAY!



Moving on - Maggie is a BAD DOG.
Phin and I went to Wal-Mart for Listerine and heavy whipping cream (for my coffee).
We made another stop and left Maggie in the car with our purchases. Upon arrival back to the car, THIS is what we found. A punctured heavy whipped cream container and about 1/4 of the cream on Maggie's face and in her tummy! It was such a mess, I had to pour the rest of the cream out on the parking lot...
So now, I STILL don't have any cream for my coffee! $3.18 down the drain. I guess that was Maggie's Christmas present???

Baby Wearing

Okay, so this picture tells me that:
A. Being photographed in a size 2X fleece top is maybe not the best idea. (super comfy but a little unsightly!)
B. The "freezing" off of my skin discoloration on my neck by my dermatologist hasn't "worked" yet. Maybe with more time it'll disappear.
C. It is possible to "wear" Phin around from time to time.

What a great gift the baby sling was - Thank you Mom!
