Phin's Friday!

He had a nap (or three) to get ready for his big night!


He flew (with Daddy engine power) to his bedroom to get changed for his night out.


And this is a picture of me - with actual clothes on and my hair somewhat "done."
See, I don't do myself up every day - so anytime I do, you will see it!

Mama works while Phin sleeps!

I have worked hard this evening to get all of the pictures up for friends and family to see. In all, I had 6 gigs of images to go through, put on cd's, color correct and add some to the blog. I was working hard while Phin was hanging out in his vibrating seat. He fell asleep and so I gave him a little blankie to be warm while I finished up with the blog!

He's growing up too fast and I am trying to keep these little things - like seeing his sweet sleepy face in my arms - committed to memory so I can keep them forever.

He was sleeping on the sofa while I sat by him. Note how he's blockaded into the safe!

...and my baby sleeps

This is new, bigger magic blanket. It's all fleece, so it holds a static electricity charge pretty bad.. but it's still fun and colorful and gives him warmth and something of interests when he wakes up. It's not quite finished, but with just five minutes of stitching, it'll be perfect! (just like him)

We were happy to finally find 12 month old jammies.
Like all of his other clothes, there is plenty of room in the waist and the length is about "right on"
He actually has about 1 inch of "growing room" in these jammies.

It's my BIRTHDAY!

Today is January 28th and it's my birthday.
It's been a great day!

We went to the gym and stopped by Church.

China was hanging out, dreaming of sledding down a snowy hill in this shasta box. Note her new collar - thanks to our vet.



I got calls from family wishing me a happy birthday.
This evening, Daddy brought flowers for me and Phin brought dinner (I didn't have to cook - though, I don't generally mind making dinner).


It has been a nice evening with my boys and even put my little one to sleep - in my arms which is special in a mommy/baby kinda of way.

Okay, so we didn't take a picture of the kids DURING the date because we are trying to be the "cool" parents and stuff... but here is a picture of the aftermath.

Phin is not "officially dating" Mayah but I think the kids had a good time together. We didn't leave them alone together... They did participate in some baby talk together, which none of us understood, but we believe it was all above board and "clean". :)
We got there for dinner around 6:30 and I thought it was 9pm when we left - turns out it was 11:30pm! Phin has figured it out... IT'S BEDTIME!

AND I made the softee magic blanket.

I guess, I enjoy making things.

Another one bites the dust!

The outfit that is.
The overalls are a 3-6 month and regardless of how this picture looks, we had to work very hard to scrunch Phin into the overalls so they might fit him. Phin is big and outgrowing his clothes and fast as I get them out his dresser.

Is it worth it?

I ask myself this a lot. Usually when I am super tired and I see my baby looking so peaceful and beautiful as he sleeps. I ask myself - "Is it worth it to possibly wake him up to get a picture of him looking so amazing?"

The answer is pretty much always yes.

I guess that when he's older, he may believe he was always sleeping with stars sparkling in his eyes when he was a baby. Little will he know that it was actually my flash.

I have decided not to make a hat with this one because by the time he's wearing these sleep sacks, the hats will be too small - as they fit him RIGHT NOW.

The next sleep sack will be blue background with yellow stars. :)
